Description
Diaphonization is the chemical process of staining the bones and cartilaginous tissues then rendering the flesh transparent so as to provide a non-invasive means of studying the anatomy and osteology of a specimen. Modern protocols were introduced and perfected by scientists in the 70’s, but the concept dates back over 100 years. It’s a very tedious and lengthy process requiring many steps, lots of chemicals and attention to detail. The average turnover time for a complete specimen is 3 months, start to finish. You will receive (one) 1.5 inch jar featuring your specimen with purchase. NOTICE: The house mouse (Mus musculus) is a small mammal of the order Rodentia, characteristically having a pointed snout, large rounded ears, and a long and almost hairless tail. It is one of the most abundant species of the genus Mus and is not a CITES protected species.
